Cotton Bowl and Fair Park Transportation: State Fair, Red River and Big Event Days
Three weeks of State Fair, the loudest college football day in Texas, and a park that does not park a hundred thousand cars.
Fair Park in early October is a genuine spectacle and a genuine logistics problem. The State Fair of Texas runs for weeks, the Red River game drops a hundred thousand people into the middle of it, and the parking was never designed for either.
This is the one date in the calendar where we tell people plainly that self driving is the worst option available. Cotton Bowl transportation on Red River weekend is not a luxury, it is the practical choice: dropped at the gate, collected at an agreed point.
What fills the park
- State Fair of Texas. Late September into October, the biggest annual event in the state.
- Red River rivalry. Texas against Oklahoma at the Cotton Bowl, in the middle of the Fair, which is why the day is unlike any other.
- Cotton Bowl football and other neutral site games.
- Concerts, festivals and the museums that operate in the park year round.
Red River weekend, honestly
Fair Park access changes by event and changes again during the Fair itself. We confirm the working gate and drop point for your specific date instead of assuming.
On Red River weekend we build in extra time both directions and agree a collection point away from the main crush. Your chauffeur stays onsite the whole time and shares his live location so you are not searching for the vehicle in a crowd that size.
Passes and credentials, where required, get arranged at the time of booking. Provide yours if the ticket package includes parking, otherwise we purchase on your behalf and bill it back.
| Coming from | Allow |
|---|---|
| Frisco and Plano | 45 to 60 min |
| Dallas | 10 to 20 min |
| Fort Worth | 45 to 60 min |
| Rockwall | 35 to 45 min |
| DFW Airport | 35 to 45 min |
| Love Field | 20 to 30 min |
Drive times are estimates for normal conditions. Event traffic changes them, which is why we set the pickup time when we quote rather than leaving it to you to guess.

How our chauffeurs work an event
Fair Park is large and the working gates change with the event, which is why we confirm the drop point ahead of the date. Your chauffeur stays onsite for the whole booked block and sends a pin drop, so after a Red River afternoon or a long fair day nobody is walking the grounds looking for a ride. More on how we run event days is on our sporting event transportation page.
Booking Cotton Bowl transportation
Before you book
- Parking passes. Where the venue requires one we arrange it at booking. Bring your own if it came with your tickets, otherwise we buy it and it goes on the invoice.
- Hourly minimums. Event days here are booked hourly on a five to six hour minimum, and Red River weekend usually runs longer. We quote it against your plan for the day.
- A deposit holds every trip and is non refundable. Cancellation windows vary by vehicle and are listed on our pricing page.
- Book the big dates early. The larger vehicles go first, and on peak weekends they go weeks ahead.
Flying in for this one? Airport pickups are point to point with no hourly minimum and include wait time. Details are on our airport transfers page.
Flying in privately?
- Give us the tail number. We track it where the aircraft is trackable, so the vehicle is in position when you land rather than after. FBO pickups are billed hourly with a two hour minimum, and meet and greet at an FBO is free. Full detail is on our private aviation page.

Questions we get asked
Should we book a vehicle for the State Fair?
It is one of the smartest bookings of the year. Parking at Fair Park during the Fair is limited and expensive, the walk is long, and the vehicle takes the whole problem away.
What about the Red River game?
That day is in a category of its own, with the Fair and a hundred thousand football fans in the same park. Book early. The vehicles go weeks in advance.
Where does the chauffeur wait?
At an agreed point away from the worst of the crowd, onsite and in contact for the whole block. He shares his live location on WhatsApp or sends a pin drop.
How far ahead should we book for October?
Weeks, not days. October at Fair Park is the tightest part of our calendar and the larger vehicles go first.
Can you handle a large group in several vehicles?
Yes. Multiple vehicles work the same drop and collection point and the chauffeurs coordinate, so your group stays together.
Do you also cover concerts at Fair Park?
Yes, including Dos Equis Pavilion, which sits inside the park.
