How our San Antonio service actually works

We are based in Frisco and our own vehicles and chauffeurs run out of Dallas Fort Worth. Most of our San Antonio work starts as a run down from the metroplex, which is a trip we quote garage to garage and drive ourselves.

For work that starts and ends inside San Antonio, we dispatch through operators we have used for years and vetted the same way we vet our own. You book with us, you are billed by us, and our dispatch stays accountable from pickup to drop off. We would rather tell you that than let you find out on the day.

The difference matters. A national booking platform hands your trip to whichever operator bids lowest that morning and nobody answers when it goes wrong. We know who is driving you and we have a working relationship with them that predates your booking.

The run down from Dallas Fort Worth

About four and a half hours on I-35, roughly 275 miles. For a group with luggage this is frequently faster door to door than flying once you count the drive to DFW, two hours before departure, the wait for bags, and a rental counter on the other end. It is also usually cheaper past four people, and materially cheaper if anyone is carrying golf clubs, trade show materials, or equipment that costs extra at the counter.

Long distance runs are quoted garage to garage including the empty legs, so the number you see is the number you pay. Larger vehicles are quoted on a mileage rate that moves with fuel, and overnight trips add the chauffeur's hotel and per diem.

Convention Center and River Walk transfers

The Henry B. González Convention Center is the reason most groups come to San Antonio, and the reason most group transportation here goes wrong. Attendees are spread across a dozen hotels along the river, the streets around the center are one way and frequently closed, and everyone needs to move at the same time.

We run it as scheduled shuttle loops rather than a stack of individual fares. One booking, one point of contact, one invoice, and a headcount that actually arrives together.

River Walk hotels are not where the map says

This is the detail that catches out of town operators. Most River Walk hotels sit a level below the street, and the vehicle entrance is on a completely different face of the building from the lobby your guests walked out of. A chauffeur who has not done this before ends up circling while your group waits at the wrong door.

We confirm the street level vehicle entrance for your specific property before the trip and tell your group which door to use, in writing, before they travel.

Basic training graduation transportation

Air Force basic training graduates at JBSA Lackland most weeks of the year, and every graduation brings families in from out of state who land at San Antonio International with no car, no local knowledge, and a schedule they cannot be late for.

It is a specific job. Families arrive across several flights, the group is usually eight to twenty people spanning three generations, base access has its own rules and timing, and Coin and Retreat ceremonies run on a fixed schedule that does not wait.

San Antonio International and FBO arrivals

San Antonio International (SAT) sits about eight miles north of downtown, which makes it one of the shorter airport runs of any major Texas city. Twenty minutes to a River Walk hotel outside rush hour, longer during Fiesta or a large convention.

How we handle an FBO arrival

• Tail number tracking where the aircraft is trackable. Where it is not, we confirm arrival directly with the FBO front desk
• Meet and greet is complimentary at FBOs, planeside where the operator allows vehicles on the ramp, otherwise inside the terminal
• Arrivals are billed hourly with a two hour minimum, because private schedules move
• Departures are standard point to point unless wait time runs past 30 minutes, which converts the trip to hourly
• Unmarked sedans and SUVs, NDAs on request

Commercial arrivals

• Flight tracking on every booking. We adjust to your actual landing time, not the schedule
• Complimentary wait time: 30 minutes on domestic arrivals, 45 on international, 15 on departures. A rideshare driver waits about five
• Curbside is standard. Meet and greet inside at baggage claim with a name sign is a $25 add on chosen at booking
• Airport transfers are always point to point. No hourly minimum, any day, any hour

Venues

Where we drop off in San Antonio

• Frost Bank Center: Spurs games, rodeo and concerts. Pickup point agreed clear of the lot exit before you go in.
• Alamodome: Bowl games, stadium concerts and large conventions. The surrounding streets close early on event days.
• Tobin Center and the Majestic Theatre: Curtain times are unforgiving and the load zones are specific. We plan for the curtain, not the address.
• The Pearl: Dinner, weddings and private events in the brewery district north of downtown.
• The Alamo and downtown: Visiting family, walking tours and evenings out where nobody should be driving home.
• Hill Country wedding venues: Boerne, Bulverde, Spring Branch and the ranch properties northwest of the city, where guests are scattered across several hotels and nobody knows the roads at night.
• TPC San Antonio: Valero Texas Open week and corporate golf.

Event trips are booked as a block of time rather than a one way fare. The roads around any venue are gridlocked for an hour after it ends. Reserving the block keeps the same vehicle and chauffeur with you, somewhere secure for coats and bags, and a guaranteed ride home at the hour you choose.

April

Fiesta San Antonio week

For about ten days in April the parade routes close large parts of downtown and the River Walk, on a schedule that changes daily. Battle of Flowers and the Fiesta Flambeau night parade shut the core entirely, and a vehicle that gets caught inside the perimeter is not getting out.

We plan Fiesta trips around the daily closure map rather than the shortest route, and we set pickup points outside the perimeter so your group walks two blocks instead of waiting an hour. Vehicles commit early across the whole market that week, so book well ahead.

Sedans for a solo traveller, Escalades for a small team with luggage, Sprinters for corporate groups and families, and motorcoaches up to fifty six for conventions and long distance charter. Whatever the headcount, your group travels in one vehicle rather than splitting across several and arriving in pieces.

Sedans and SUVs are unmarked, and we sign nondisclosure agreements on request. Vehicles are assigned by what is closest and available for your date and time.
