A city that runs on the university calendar
University Park is small, residential and almost entirely shaped by SMU sitting in the middle of it. Which means the transportation year has a shape you can predict: move in weekend in August, home football Saturdays through the autumn, family weekend, recruitment, December lights, and then graduation in May when every hotel in the Park Cities is full of grandparents.
Those are the weekends that matter, and they are the weekends when vehicles run out. Not because demand is enormous, but because it all lands on the same six or seven dates.
Fifteen minutes to Love Field
One of the shortest airport runs in the metroplex, which changes what is possible. Later departures than we would recommend from the northern suburbs, and a delayed arrival is a short reposition rather than an hour across the city. DFW is roughly 30 to 35 minutes west when your flight requires it.
SMU
Game days, family weekends and graduation
The Boulevard is the thing out of town families do not expect. Tailgating runs down Bishop Boulevard through the middle of campus, the surrounding streets are closed or restricted, and parking within walking distance of Ford Stadium is effectively gone several hours before kickoff. Dropping a group at an agreed point and having the same vehicle waiting afterwards is worth more on a game Saturday than almost any other day of the year.
- Gerald J. Ford Stadium: Game day drop and collection, with the pickup point agreed clear of the closures before you go in.
- Moody Coliseum: Basketball and campus events.
- Move in weekend: Airport collection for families arriving across several flights, plus the vehicle held while you unload.
- Family Weekend and Parents Weekend: Dinner reservations across Highland Park Village, Knox Henderson and Uptown, with the vehicle held between stops.
- Graduation: The single hardest weekend of the year to book here. Extended families, multiple hotels, and a ceremony that does not wait.
- Recruitment and formals: Group transport where nobody should be driving and everybody should arrive together.
- George W. Bush Presidential Center: Events, receptions and visiting groups.
Graduation weekend and home game Saturdays commit vehicles across the whole Dallas market. If you know the date, book it as soon as the university publishes the calendar rather than the month before.
December
Christmas lights tours in the Park Cities
The Highland Park and University Park lights bring traffic in from all over North Texas for about three weeks in December, which turns the residential streets into a slow moving queue every evening. It is genuinely worth seeing and genuinely miserable to drive.
We run it as an hourly booking with a route the chauffeur already knows, so the group looks out of the window instead of navigating, and nobody is hunting for parking on Beverly Drive. Sedans for a couple, Sprinters or a limo bus for extended families and neighbourhood groups.
December books early and the good evenings go first. The weekend before Christmas is usually gone by Thanksgiving.
Airport transfers
University Park to Love Field and DFW
Love Field is about fifteen minutes and is the obvious default. DFW is roughly 30 to 35 minutes west. We will tell you which one suits your flight rather than just quoting the field you name.
- Flight tracking on every booking. We adjust to your actual landing time, not the schedule
- Complimentary wait time: 30 minutes on domestic arrivals, 45 on international, 15 on departures. A rideshare driver waits about five
- Curbside is standard. Meet and greet inside at baggage claim with a name sign is a $25 add on chosen at booking, which is worth it for arriving grandparents
- Airport transfers are always point to point. No hourly minimum, any day, any hour
- Standing accounts for regular flyers and for families with a student here
Private aviation
FBO arrivals near University Park
Love Field is one of the busiest private jet fields in the country and it is fifteen minutes away, which makes this one of the easiest parts of the metroplex to fly into privately.
- Dallas Love Field (DAL): About 15 minutes. Business Jet Center, Signature across multiple terminals, Atlantic Aviation and Jet Aviation.
- Addison Airport (ADS): About 20 minutes north. Million Air Dallas, Atlantic Aviation and Galaxy FBO. Customs on site.
- Dallas Executive (RBD): Southwest of downtown and a quieter option on that side of the city.
How we handle an FBO arrival
- Tail number tracking where the aircraft is trackable. Where it is not, we confirm arrival directly with the FBO front desk
- Meet and greet is complimentary at FBOs, planeside where the operator allows vehicles on the ramp, otherwise inside the terminal
- Arrivals are billed hourly with a two hour minimum, because private schedules move
- Departures are standard point to point unless wait time runs past 30 minutes, which converts the trip to hourly
- Unmarked sedans and SUVs, NDAs on request
Residential
Standing arrangements and discretion
A good part of our work in the Park Cities is recurring and quiet: the same airport run every other week, a standing school or activity collection, a car for visiting family. What people ask for here, more than anywhere else on our list, is that the vehicle is unremarkable and the chauffeur is the same person each time.
- Sedans and SUVs are unmarked. NDAs signed on request, at no extra cost
- The same chauffeur where scheduling allows, so nobody re explains the gate code or the preferred door
- Preferences on file: temperature, music or quiet, which entrance to use
- Monthly billing rather than paying per trip
- Chauffeurs background checked and drug screened before their first trip, with driving records monitored on an ongoing basis
Fleet
Your whole group, one vehicle
Sedans for the Love Field run, Escalades for a family with luggage, Sprinters for game day groups and graduation weekends, and limo buses and coaches when the whole extended family is in town. Whatever the headcount, your group travels in one vehicle rather than splitting across several and arriving in pieces.
Sedans and SUVs are unmarked, and we sign nondisclosure agreements on request. Vehicles are assigned by what is closest and available for your date and time.
Why University Park books Goodman
- We know the SMU calendar: Game Saturdays, move in, family weekend and graduation are the dates that matter, and they are the dates that sell out. We plan around them rather than being surprised by them.
- Fifteen minutes to Love Field: Later departures, and a delayed arrival is a short reposition rather than an hour across the city.
- Discreet by default: Unmarked sedans and SUVs, NDAs on request, and the same chauffeur where scheduling allows.
- A person answers: Live dispatch, 24 hours a day. Not an answering service, not a callback queue.
- Written before you ride: Vehicle, rate and terms confirmed in writing. No surge pricing, no surprises on the invoice.
- Since 1998: Twenty eight years, family owned and operated, same name the whole time.
University Park questions
Can you drop at Ford Stadium on a game Saturday?
Yes, at a point agreed before the day rather than at the gate, because the Boulevard closures put the actual drop somewhere the map will not show you. The same vehicle collects you afterwards from the same point, which is the entire value of booking hourly on a game day rather than taking a one way fare in.
When should we book for SMU graduation?
As soon as the university publishes the date. Graduation is the hardest weekend of the year to book in the Park Cities, because every family in town needs a vehicle on the same two days and half of them have grandparents arriving through Love Field.
Do you run Christmas lights tours?
Yes, hourly, with a route the chauffeur already knows so the group looks out of the window instead of navigating. December books early and the weekend before Christmas is usually gone by Thanksgiving.
Love Field or DFW from University Park?
Love Field almost always, at about fifteen minutes. DFW is 30 to 35 minutes and only worth it when your carrier or schedule requires it. Tell us the flight and we will tell you which one actually works.
Are your vehicles unmarked?
Sedans and SUVs, yes. We sign nondisclosure agreements on request and it costs nothing extra. For a good number of the families we carry here, the point is that nobody notices the car.
Hourly minimums, deposits and cancellation windows are set out in full on our service terms, and the exact terms for your booking are listed on your signed confirmation.
